Islamabad, May 30 (IANS) Unilateral acts like the killing of Osama bin Laden by US commandos in a sneak raid were not acceptable, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said.
‘Unilateral acts like Abbottabad incident will not be acceptable to us,’ Associated Press of Pakistan quoted Gilani as saying Sunday.
Osama bin Laden was shot dead May 2 by US commandos who stormed his high-walled compound in Abbottabad.
Gilani told reporters in Lahore that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senator John Kerry have supported Pakistan’s stance on the Abbottabad incident.
He said the US leadership has not accused Pakistan of incompetence or complacency on the Osama issue.
On drone attacks, the prime minister said that there would be no compromise on the sovereignty of the country.
He added that drone attacks are counter-productive.
On the May 22 attack at a key naval base in Karachi, Gilani said the terrorist acts were a continuation of reaction against Osama’s killing.
‘A terrorist is a terrorist and he cannot be exonerated of the crime by labelling him as good or bad Taliban,’ he added.
