New Delhi, May 30 (IANS) Five days after a low intensity bomb went off near the Delhi High Court complex, a bag contained wires and batteries was found outside a Delhi University college Monday, police said.
Officials said the bag also had powder used to make firecrackers but added that the contents could not have exploded.
The discovery of the bag at a bus stop outside Gargi College, an all-women’s college in south Delhi, just after noon triggered panic in the area.
‘It appears to be some sort of prank by somebody,’ said Joint Commissioner of Police Amulya Patnaik.
A police officer said the wires and batteries were not connected. There was no circuit that could have triggered an explosion.
The bomb disposal squad, a dog squad and Delhi Police teams examined the spot — and the bag.
The latest incident came five days after a crude bomb went off at the parking lot of the Delhi High Court. No one was injured in the incident.
