Moscow, May 31 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Russia is ready to send a team of experts to Libya to verify reports of the possible death of Muammar Gaddafi’s son and three grandchildren, an official said Tuesday.

‘If there is a formal request, Russia would be ready to send qualified experts to Tripoli,’ Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.

He said it was important to clarify the situation because ‘matters of life and death must not be used for propaganda purposes’.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has questioned reports that Gaddafi’s son and grandchildren were killed in a NATO airstrike.
