New Delhi, June 23 (Inditop.com) A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) trooper was critically injured after he fell on a Delhi metro railtrack and was hit by a train at the Civil Lines metro station in the capital Tuesday.
Constable Jaipal Singh fell on the tracks around 8:50 a.m. and was hit by the train at the Civil Lines station on the Central Secretariat-Jahangirpuri underground metro stretch, a CISF official said.
“He is critically injured and was admitted to the Aruna Asaf Ali hospital here,” the official said.
According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials, the metro driver applied the emergency brakes after he saw a man in uniform on the tracks. The CISF trooper was immediately rushed to the hospital.
However, the officials denied to comment on the circumstances that led to the incident and said the matter is under investigation.
