New Delhi, June 21 (IANS) A 43-year-old woman and a contract killer were arrested from Mumbai for killing her boyfriend in south Delhi earlier this month after getting inspired from the plot of TV serial ‘CID’, Delhi Police said Tuesday.

‘Krishna and contract killer Rakesh Govind, 35, both from Mumbai, were held from their house Monday,’ said Deputy Commissioner of Police A.K. Ojha.

Police recovered Somnath Suverna’s decomposed body from a rented house in Bindapur in south Delhi June 12. He had been strangled to death.

‘In the call details of the mobile phone of property dealer Satnam, who helped in making the tenancy contract of the rented house, we found a Mumbai number. The number user was in Delhi around the time when the victim was killed,’ said Ojha.

‘We sent a team to Mumbai and found that Krishna, who originally belongs to Dallupura in east Delhi, was using the phone,’ said Ojha.

Krishna dumped her husband Rambir working in a defence office in Delhi in 2005 and shifted to Mumbai with her two young children.

There she had a live-in relationship with Suverna, said Ojha.

She developed differences with Suverna over financial issues and hired Govind for Rs.150,000 for killing the former, police said.
