London, June 22 (IANS) Music mogul Simon Cowell’s mother has accused British singer Cheryl Cole of unfairly blaming her son for ‘The X Factor’ firing, saying it was not his fault.

Cole was replaced by singer Nicole Scherzinger for the US version of the show produced by Cowell and his company Syco TV.

‘I think Cheryl does blame Simon unfairly for what has happened. She got very excited about everything that was going to happen in the US, but the Americans didn’t want her. There isn’t anything Simon could do about that; it isn’t Simon’s fault,’ Julie Cowell told the Daily Express.

‘I didn’t talk to Simon about what was going on. I do sometimes call him and tell him I disagree with him about certain things but there was nothing he could have done for Cheryl,’ she added.

However, Julie offered some kind words to Cole: ‘She is beautiful and talented and I’m sure she will do more wonderful things.’
