Kolkata, June 30 (IANS) West Bengal Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee Thursday said Webel, a state government agency promoting software and electronics industry, will be restructured.
‘There will be a restructuring of Webel. It should concentrate on core areas, not on land or real estate,’ Chatterjee told reporters on the sidelines of 83rd Annual General Meeting of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) here.
‘Basudev Banerjee has been appointed the new chairman of Webel for the time being. We will later appoint a permanent chairman,’ he said.
On state-run gas utility GAIL, Chatterjee said it has not yet given any proposal to the state government.
GAIL earlier informed the state government that it would submit its proposal to it within three to four days.
GAIL chairman B.C. Tripathi met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee June 7 and made a presentation about its investment plans in the state.
