Chandigarh, July 1 (IANS) Mysore’s Yashas Chandra won his second title of the season with a steady 74 that helped him overhaul Tarundeep Singh Chadha in the final round of the Chandigarh Junior Open golf tournament Friday.

The 16-year-old, who hails from Mysore, trains under Vijay Divecha in Bangalore most of the time.

Winner of the Ooty Gymkhana event on the South Zone Junior circuit, Chandra followed his third round 69 with a 74 on the final day to aggregate 291, while Chadha who led for most part of the tournament had a lacklustre performance of 78 on the final day to finish at 293, two shots adrift of the winner. Manu Gandas (76) was third at 295, while Syed Saqib (69) brought in the day’s best card but still ended fourth at 298.

Honey Baisoya of Delhi held his lead and emerged winner in Group B with a final round of 76 that gave him a four-round total of 296, which also placed him overall fourth, even ahead of Saqib. Viraj Madappa (78) was second in Group B at 299.

Karandeep Kochar (79) was a runaway winner in Group C at 304, while Sarthak Kohli (75) and Arjun Puri (75) were tied second at 317. Digraj Singh Gill took the honours in Group D boys with a final round of 79 for a total of 243 while Karan Pratap Singh (81) was second at 245.

Arshia Mahant edged out Tanrika Singh in Girls Group D with a total of 270 as against latter’s 271.

Shreya Ghei Thursday emerged winner among girls with a three-round total of 228, which was eight clear of Gurbani’s (236).

In Girls Group B Vrishali Sinha (80) topped at 246 Ridhima Dilawari (82) was second at 248. In Girls C, Amrita Anand (81) was the topper at 240 ahead of Suchitra Ramesh 257.
