Bridgetown (Barbados), July 1 (IANS) India batted sensibly to increase their overall lead to 73 at lunch on the fourth day of the second cricket Test against the West Indies at the Kensington Oval here Friday.
At lunch, India reached 62 for one in their second innings. Abhinav Mukund was not out on 27 and Rahul Dravid was batting on 18.
There was another rain delay in the morning and play started 50 minutes late.
India, who were all out for 201 in the first innings and bowled out West Indies for 190, resumed from their overnight total of 23 without loss.
India lost opener Murali Vijay (3) in the second over of the day. He was caught behind as he edged a Ravi Rampul delivery that moved away sharply.
Mukund and Dravid then focussed on building a partnership even as the West Indies attack continued to exploit the bounce in the pitch.
Dravid, who scored his 32nd century in the first Test, looked in trouble when he was on 9 and struck a delivery from Darren Sammy to mid-wicket where Adrian Barath took a low diving catch. On-field umpire Asad Rauf consulted TV umpire Gregory Brathwaite and the replays showed that the catch was taken on a half-volley.
India won the first Test at Jamiaca by 63 runs and they are looking to win their second away Test series victory over West Indies.
