Tripoli, July 2 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has warned of attacks in Europe unless NATO stops its air strikes against key facilities in the North African country.

Gaddafi said Libyans loyal to him could ‘take this battle… to Europe, to target your homes, offices, families, which would become legitimate military targets, like you have targeted our homes’.

The Libyan leader – wanted by the International Criminal Court for violence against civilians during an uprising against him – made the statement in an audio recording that was played to thousands of supporters in the capital.

‘If we decide to, we are able to move to Europe like locusts, like bees. We advise you to retreat before you are dealt a disaster,’ he said.

Gaddafi also called on his supporters to ‘march on the western mountains’ to remove weapons recently delivered by the French to the rebels based there.
