London, July 2 (IANS) A vending machine which dispenses gold coins and bars has been installed for the first time in Britain.

The ‘Gold to go’ machine — made from reinforced steel and fitted with sophisticated alarms — has been put up at the Westfield shopping mall, the Daily Express reported.

A one gram coin can be bought for 40 pounds while a 250 gram gold bar costs 10,250 pounds.

The machine also accepts credit cards.

The ‘Gold to go’ machine is manufactured and operated by German company, Ex Oriente Lux (light from the east). They’ve already installed their gold-vending ATMs in Europe, North America, and the Emirates.
