New Delhi, July 3 (IANS) The opposition parties have asked the government to introduce a strong Lokpal bill in parliament’s monsoon session beginning August 1, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) said after an all party meeting on the proposed anti-graft legislation Sunday.
‘Different parties have given different views. There are around 20 to 22 issues of disagreement between the opposition and the government,’ TDP MP Nama Nageshwar Rao told reporters.
‘We have asked the government to introduce a strong and effective Lokpal bill. There will be elaborate discussion in the parliament,’ he added.
The meeting came as part of efforts by the government to evolve a consensus on the anti-graft bill.
