London, July 3 (IANS) Novak Djokovic defeated defending champion Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 to win his maiden Wimbledon title here Sunday.
It was Djokovic’s third major title, having won the Australian Open in 2008 and this year.
The Serbian will also be the new World No.1, surpassing Nadal when the rankings are released Monday.
