Kabul, July 28 (IANS) At least 25 people, including six militants, were killed Thursday in multiple blasts and a gun battle in a southern Afghan city, officials said.

Another 35 people were injured in the attacks in Trinkot, capital of Uruzgan province, 370 km south of Kabul, provincial spokesman Ahmad Milad Mudasir was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

The explosions began around 12.30 p.m. but had been brought under control after about four hours of fighting, he said.

Khan Agha Niakhil, head of the Trinkot city health department, said 10 children and two women were among those killed.
