Kolkata, July 31 (IANS) The engine of the Guwahati-Bangalore Express derailed near Kaliachak in Malda district of West Bengal and was hit by a passenger train running on the adjoining track Sunday evening, a railway official said, adding that details were awaited.
‘The accident happened in Malda division between Jamirghata and Gourghata stations,’ said an Eastern Railway spokesman.
Another railway official said, ‘Something serious has happened’.
