New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp Thursday reported an increase of 18.6 percent in sales for August at 503,654 units as compared to 424,617 units sold in the same period last year.
‘The August sales performance has set the pace for the exciting festive season ahead of us as we look to ride our present buoyancy,’ said Anil Dua, senior vice president (marketing and sales), Hero MotoCorp.
According to Dua, the company has recieved a good response to its new brand identity, global logo and campaign it adopted earlier in August. The company adopted the new identity after it parted ways with its joint venture (JV) partner Honda in December.
‘We created a new name, identity and positioning, and have begun to build the company’s new brand architecture,’ Dua said.
The company further reported an increase of 21 percent in its cumulative sales between April to August this year at 2.5 million units, over the 2,086,342 units sold in the like period last year.
‘This (cumulative sales) has set the company well on course to meet the initial guidance of six million volume sales in the fiscal year 2011-12,’ a company statement said.
