Lucknow, Sep 1 (IANS) A Chinese national, arrested two years ago for intruding into the Indian territory, escaped from police custody by jumping from a train near the Uttar Pradesh-Bihar border, police said Thursday.

Yua Sang Henry, aged around 28 years, escaped from the custody of Arunachal Pradesh Police by jumping from the Sampark Kranti Express late Wednesday near Mughalsarai in Chandauli district.

‘Four policemen, including a sub-inspector, were taking the Chinese national to the Chinese embassy in New Delhi in connection with the case pertaining to his infiltration,’ Government Railway Police (GRP) inspector Tripurari Pandey told reporters in Chandauli, some 300 km from Lucknow.

?A search operation to nab the Chinese national has been launched in regions of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar,’ he added.
