Chennai, Sep 2 (IANS) Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) chalked up a surprise two-wicket win against fancied India Cements in a Group B league match of the Airtel BCCI Corporate cricket tournament for the Raj Singh Dungarpur trophy here Friday.

In another match, State Bank of Mysore beat Bharat Petroleum Limited by 57 runs for their first points from two outings while CAG top the table with eight, ahead of India Cements (5). BPCL are still to score a point.

India Cements piled up 284 for five in their 50 overs after openers Abhinav Mukund (69) and K.B. Arun Karthick (83) put on 152 runs, and the latter order batsmen K. Shrivasudevadas (36 not out) and S. Suresh Kumar (41 not out) boosted the total.

However, the CAG responded strongly with Arpit Vasavada (82) leading from the front while Manjunath Kasetty (55), Sishir Bhavani (56) and Thaliak Naidu (61 not out) chipped in usefully.

In contrast, SBM virtually sealed the game when they put up a total of 306 for four after Anirudh Joshi struck an unbeaten 109 (92b, 5 x 4, 5 x 6) and then restricted BPCL to 249 all out.
