Chandigarh, Sep 3 (IANS) Real estate agents in Punjab will now be governed by a code of conduct, a property developers’ confederation said Saturday.
‘Realty sector in Punjab state is all set to bear transparency stamp with the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI), Punjab chapter, introducing model code of conduct for all its members,’ CREDAI national president Lalit Jain told reporters here.
He said the code of conduct will not only ensure transparent dealings in and sale of real estate in the state, but would also entail setting up of a grievances redressal cell for people who have had unsavoury experiences with real estate companies or agents.
‘Not ready to compromise security of customers on any term, CREDAI has decided to even revoke membership of its members who do not abide by the code of conduct,’ Jain said.
Jain said that the code aims at maintaining dignity of developers, promoters and builders and to bring a cooperative spirit between them and the customers.
