London, July 1 (Inditop.com) Los Angeles-based Julien’s Auctions, which had to pull back a Michael Jackson Neverland estate sale at the last minute in April, are keen to restage the event if the late pop star’s family gives them the nod.
The owner of the auction house, Darren Julien and his partner Martin Nolan had to return all 1,390 items they had hoped to put under the hammer after Jackson’s attorneys insisted they had no right to sell the memorabilia, reported contactmusic.com.
The matter was settled amicably out of court and Julien insists he and Jackson were on good terms when the singer died Thursday. He’s hopeful the memorabilia sale can now take place at some time in the future.
“We’ve returned everything, we worked everything out. But we would consider a new auction if the Jackson family and MJJ Productions sanctioned it, because it’s important to us that they’re in control of it and approve it,” he said.
The original auction featured a limousine Jackson had custom made, various costumes and clothing and the gates from the singer’s Neverland estate in Santa Barbara, California.
