Bhopal, Sep 28 (IANS) Some heritage sites of this ‘City of Lakes’ will be conserved on the line of France’s Rheims city, a minister said Wednesday.

The French government has shown interest in conserving the ancient heritages in two cities of Madhya Pradesh — Bhopal and Maheshwar, Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur said in a statement.

A two-member French delegation, which comprised Christian Lee Petit, managing director of urban planning of Rheims and Benjamin Gestin, Culture Representative at French embassy in India, met Gaur in this regard Wednesday.

Heritage buildings here which will be taken up for conservation and augmentation works include Sadar Manzil, Pari Bazaar and also three ancient reservoirs – Motia Talab, Siddique Hasan Khan Talab and Munshi Hussain Khan Talab.

Gaur also urged the delegation to undertake conservation of Bhopal’s other famous heritage sites like Taj Mahal palace, Benazir building and Taj-ul-Masajid, as well as few historical sites in Gwalior.
