Pune, Sep 29 (IANS) Aditi Ashok maintained her supremacy in the girls’ category with yet another consistent round of four-over 75 that enabled her to top in the Toyota-IGU Junior and Sub-Junior Golf championships Thursday.
Aditi has been in blistering form this year, winning a pro event even while being an amateur. She also won the Malaysian Open juniors last month.
Not as fluent as in the first two rounds when she shot 73 each, Aditi playing in category B had two birdies on the tenth and 12th against six bogeys as she totalled 221 for three rounds, 10 shots better than Raksha Phadke, winner in category A. Raksha shot rounds of 78, 76 and 77 for 231. She finished three clear of Gurbani Singh (76-83-75) at 234.
Vashistha Pawar held off the challenge from Abhishek Kuhar (70), Roshan Raj (74) and category B player, 13-year-old Prakher Asawa (72). While Pawar ended with a 54-hole total of 218, the other three had 219. Aman Raj (71) with a total of 221 and Yashas Chandra (70) with 223 had excellent final rounds, but their earlier rounds came in the way as they finished fourth and sixth. Rahul Ravi (222) was fifth.
Jaiveer Singh (79-84-79) emerged winner in category C with a total of 242, one ahead of Arjun Puri (243) and two ahead of Karandeep Kochar (244).
In Girls category C, Dolma Rawat was a runaway winner with rounds of 81, 84 and 85 for a total of 250, 27 shots ahead of Riya Ahuja.
Harshjeet Sethi (84-84) was the boys’ winner in category D, one ahead of Manav Bais (84-85), and Tanrika Singh won the girls’ category D title with a total of 185, one ahead of Sahana Parvantavida.
Aditi topped the combined categories A and B for girls with Raksha Phadke second, while among the boys Vashistha Pawar won the combined title, ahead of Abhishek Kuhar, Roshan Raj and Prakher Asawa (Category B).
