Miami, Sep 30 (IANS/EFE) Singer Jenni Rivera announced Thursday that starting Oct 19 she will have her own television programme in which she will combine discussion of social issues and entertainment.
It will deal with assorted social issues and will include interviews with different entertainment personalities before a live audience.
‘My new show will give viewers an opportunity to experience a different Jenni – a caring Jenni who will touch everyday people; a Jenni who understands and connects with viewers and fellow artists on a personal level,’ Rivera said in a press release.
Rivera is considered one of the most important female artists in Mexican regional music. She has sold more than 22 million albums and received six Billboard Latino music awards and three Lo Nuestro prizes.
Recently, she was nominated for a Latino Grammy for her album ‘La Gran Senora En Vivo’.
The Mexican-American artist has also distinguished herself for her community work as spokesperson for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
