Islamabad, Sep 30 (IANS) A Chinese doctor has died of dengue in Lahore, a media report said Friday.
Sixtysix-year-old Chuwong, who was running an acupuncture clinic, tested positive for dengue about five days back.
Allama Iqbal Medical College principal Javed Akram said that during treatment Chuwong suffered from acute appendicitis but could not be operated upon because of low platelet counts.
Chuwong was living alone and the hospital authorities have shifted his body to the mortuary at the request of Chinese embassy officials.
Nearly 150 people have died due to dengue in Pakistan since August. The viral fever has left over 10,000 people sick.
