Islamabad, Nov 2 (IANS) Two Pakistani soldiers and a woman were publicly executed for allegedly having an illicit relationship, following a decision by the jirga or tribal council in the northwest tribal region, a media report said.
The soldiers from the paramilitary Frontier Corps had been performing duty at a check-post in Safi area of Mohmand Agency and had reportedly developed illicit relations with a woman from the area, Xinhua reported citing the Daily Jang.
Residents caught the two soldiers after they entered the woman’s house Tuesday.
Later, a jirga of elders decided to shoot the accused publicly. Sources said they were subsequently shot dead with a Kalashnikov rifle.
