New Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS) For the first time in the history of Subroto Cup football, an under-17 girls team from Afghanistan will be seen in action in the 52nd edition of the tournament that starts from Friday.
Organisers Indian Air Force (IAF) have also increased the total prize money by Rs.8 lakh to Rs.22 lakh.
‘In the boy’s under-14 category, we will also see teams from Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal. Over 59 school teams, 31 in U-17 and 28 in the U-14, are taking part in the tournament,’ an IAF spokesman said.
