Mumbai, Nov 3 (IANS) Diversified conglomerate Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Thursday said it had bagged two road construction projects worth Rs.875 crore through its subsidiary in Oman.

‘The orders are for the construction of the Wadikabir-Darsait road and the Mahlah-Ghubbrat Al Tam-Ismaiyah road,’ the company said in a regulatory filling to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

According to the filing, the twin orders were bagged by L&T Oman, a subsidiary of L&T, from the Muscat Municipality and from the Ministry of Transportation and Communication of Oman.

‘The Wadikabir-Darsait road project is scheduled to be completed in 24 months. It involves design and construction of flyovers and underpass along the road,’ the filing said.

The other order for Mahlah-Ghubbrat Al Tam-Ismaiyah road is to be completed in 41 months and involves 45 km of road works, four bridges and cross drainage work.

The company further said the new orders augment its earlier track record in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the Middle East.

‘It is expected that the new large orders will consolidate L&T’s position as a as an international infrastructure major.’
