Jodhpur, Dec 1 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Thursday moved an application in a court here requesting that it be allowed a forensic examination of audio clips which had various people speaking with the missing nurse Bhanwari Devi.

The application was moved in the court of additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) two days after some news channels aired an audio clip which has a woman called Rehana talking with Shahabuddin, the key suspect in the case of Bhanwari Devi who allegedly features on a CD in a compromising position with sacked Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna.

Rehana, alleged to be the girlfriend of Shahabuddin, has been quizzed several times by the CBI.

It was the third audio clip to have surfaced in the case. The other two had Sohan Lal Bishnoi who has been arrested and Indra Bishnoi, the sister of a Congress law maker, speaking with Bhanwari Devi. In these audio clips, Bhanwari is heard attempting to blackmail Maderna on the basis of the sex CD.

‘The CBI wants to examine the authenticity of all these clips. The court will give its judgment Friday,’ a police officer told IANS.

Shahabuddin, Sohan Lal and Balia have been arrested on charges of nurse’s kidnapping.

In the audio clip that came up Tuesday, Shahabuddin who is presently lodged in Jodhpur Central Jail claims that the nurse was handed over to Pradeep Godara after her abduction Sep 1.

Bhanwari Devi went missing from Jodhpur’s Bilara area Sep 1. Prominent Jat leader Maderna was sacked from the state cabinet by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Oct 16 over allegations that he had a role in her disappearance.
