New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS) Concerned at the poor turnout at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here, Sports Minister Ajay Maken Friday said school children along with their parents would be allowed free entry for the ongoing SAFF Cup football tournament.

The stadium was near empty on the opening day of the tournament Friday.

Maken said the free passes will be given from Gate No.14 of the stadium, which was hosting an international football match after a gap of 20 years.

‘We have asked the AIFF to provide complimentary passes to school kids and even parents will be allowed free entry. They will have to show their identity cards at gate number 14, which has been thrown open for them,’ Maken said after inaugurating the tournament.

‘We have asked our director of our school division, to work on this,’ he added.
