New Delhi, Jan 3 (IANS) Braving the winter chill, thousands of parents Tuesday morning queued up for hours outside schools across the capital on the second day of sale of forms for nursery admission.

Hopping from one school to another, scrambling for forms, many took an off from work desperate to apply in as many schools as possible.

‘I’ve visited several schools since yesterday (Monday) and would apply at least in 20 schools as I don’t want to take any chances. I hope my child gets through,’ said Rani Verma of central Delhi.

‘I will get extra points as I am a single mother,’ added the mother of a three-year-old boy who was out collecting forms since 8.30 a.m.

Taking in account the chilly weather, some schools like the ASN public school in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar Phase-I, served hot tea to the parents who stood in serpentine queues.

The prospectuses of various schools range between Rs.25 and Rs.150. The last date of submitting the forms is between Jan 9 and 11 depending on the school.
