Islamabad, Jan 29 (IANS) Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik Sunday met Interpol Secretary-General Ronald K. Noble in Dubai and discussed the regional security situation, a media report said.

Malik appreciated the efforts undertaken by the global policing agency.
He said the organisation’s enhanced database on criminals and terrorists was helping police across the world in tracking down suspects, the Online news agency reported.
The interior minister told Noble that Pakistan has lost 36,000 innocent lives in the war on terror.
Noble said Interpol feels that much work needs to be done by nations to break the nexus
between terrorists and drug barons.
Financing of terrorists also needed to be curbed to make the world a safer place, Noble said.
