New Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS) A total of 73.5 percent inmates of Tihar Jail are undergoing trial, which is much above the national average of 66.4 percent undertrials in Indian jails, an official said Tuesday.
Out of the 11,598 prisoners lodged in Tihar Jail, 8,911 inmates are undertrials, including 410 women, Director General (Prisons) Neeraj Kumar said at the jail’s annual press conference.
