Patna, July 8 (Inditop.com) Two contractors were abducted from Bhagalpur distict in Bihar, police said Wednesday.
Patna-based contractors Arvind Choudhary and Yogendra Kumar were kidnapped while on a business trip Tuesday, District Superintendent of Police Anand Kumar Singh said.
The abductors have demanded a ransom of Rs.2 crore for the release of the two. Their families are in a state of shock and have lodged complaints in Khagaul police station which state that the abductors have threatened them not to inform the police or the contractors would be killed.
“We have started investigations into the kidnapping of the two,” informed Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, R Malar Vizhi.
A few days ago a contractor was kidnapped in Begusarai district and was released only when a ransom of Rs.13 lakh was paid.
The People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) has expressed concern over increasing incidents of crime in the state in the last few months.
