New Delhi, Feb 1 (IANS) Two men were arrested for harassing a couple in a west Delhi Metro station which escalated into a brawl, police said Wednesday.

The incident took place at Tilak Nagar metro station Tuesday night.
Saurabh and Gaurav, both around 22, were nabbed from west Delhi’s Mahavir Nagar for abusing Ravinder Singh, in his late 20s, and his fiancee.
“The accused had passed lewd comments at a woman who was travelling with her fiance. When he (Singh) protested, the two men roughed him up,” said a police officer.
“The two men then called their friends at the Tilak Nagar metro station and as soon as the train stopped, both the groups clashed with each other,” he said.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), tasked with the security at Metro stations in the capital, intervened and broke up the fight and police were also called. However, the accused managed to flee from the spot.
This angered the family and friends of Singh who also reached the station, smashed window panes and raised slogans.
“The CISF personnel at the metro station did not act even after repeated complaints. We came to rescue our brother’s wife. They were passing remarks on a woman, why shouldn’t we protest,” asked Dalveer Singh, a relative of the complainant.
According to police, the accused are brothers and are neither studying nor employed anywhere.
