New Delhi, Feb 2 (IANS) Hospitals in the capital with 500 beds or more have been told to have fire safety officials, Delhi Health Minister A.K. Walia said Thursday.
The hospitals include LNJP, G.B. Pant, G.T.B. Hospital and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Walia said after a meeting with Public Works Department and health officials.
He directed hospitals to conform to latest fire safety norms, saying Delhi Fire Service had identified shortcomings in the hospitals.
A fire swept through the AMRI Hospital in Kolkata in December killing some 90 people.
