Tokyo, Feb 29 (IANS) Japan’s industrial output rose 2 percent in January, marking the second straight monthly climb, according to a government report Wednesday.
The better-than-expected rise was due largely to the increased production of cars and electronics, it said. The transport, information and communications and the steel industry were among the major contributors to the climb.
The average market expected the country’s industrial production to grow about 1.5 percent in the recording month.
