Beijing, March 1 (IANS) China’s flag carrier Air China will launch a direct flight between southwest China’s Chengdu city and India’s business hub Mumbai in May, the airline said Thursday.
The May 2 flight will be the first direct service from the Chinese mainland to Mumbai, Xinhua quoted an airline spokesman as saying.
Four flights on the route every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday will be serviced by Airbus A-319 aircraft.
The Mumbai-Chengdu return flight will depart each Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Monday.
The new route will be Air China’s second flight from Chengdu to India after the first was launched to Bangalore in 2009.
