Dhaka, March 1 (IANS) Many flights were cancelled after a fire broke out Thursday at the Shah Amanat International Airport in Bangladesh’s Chittagong city. There were, however, no casualties.

Rajib Kanti Dey, an assistant sub-inspector, told the Daily Star that the fire originated on the second floor of a terminal building around 4 p.m.
Fire Service and civil defence officials said no one was reported hurt.
All takeoffs and landings were cancelled due to the fire that badly damaged the second floor of the building.
Police suspected the blaze might have originated from an electrical short circuiting.
