Lucknow, March 2 (IANS) Authorities clamped prohibitory orders in the Uttar Pradesh capital Friday ahead of the vote count Tuesday and Holi that follows two days later.

The order prohibits gathering of more than five people at public places.
Police said all precautionary arrangements were being made for the two events and efforts were on to ensure that they pass peacefully.
Additional District Magistrate O.P. Pathak told IANS that a vigil was being kept on unruly elements and that officers had been told to patrol in their respective areas.
All liquor and wine shops will be shut March 8 when Holi is celebrated. No liquor will be sold in army canteens as well.
Uttar Pradesh will vote in its last and seventh phase of polling Saturday to pick a new 403-member legislature.
