New Delhi, July 9 (Inditop.com) The “continuing link” between terrorist organisations and the state of Pakistan has made “strengthening of our security apparatus both internally and on our frontiers a national priority of highest order”, according to an Indian defence report released Thursday.
The report mentioned that an “unimpeded growth of extremist terrorist organisations in Pakistan was marked by an increase in ceasefire violations, continued infiltrations across the Line of Control (LoC), as also major terrorists attacks” against India.
“All this,” the report said, “placed an immense strain on India-Pakistan composite dialogue process.”
“The continuing link of these organisations with the organs of the Pakistan state adds greater complexities and dangers to evolving situation confronting us. Strengthening of our security apparatus both internally and on our frontiers is, therefore, a national priority of highest order.”
The peace process between India and Pakistan, sharing a volatile past, was derailed following the terrorist attack on Mumbai in November last year. The situation reached the point of conflagration after evidence pointed that the 10 terrorists who sailed into Mumbai Nov 26, 2008, were trained and armed in Pakistan.
“Pakistan’s history of military and quasi-military adventurism underscores the seriousness of the threat we face,” it said.
