New Delhi, July 10 (Inditop.com) The central government has not asked Bihar to refund the Rs.1,000 crore given for the relief and rehabilitation of the Kosi flood victims, parliament was informed Friday.

“There is no question of recovering the money. The government has decided that keeping in view the situation in the state, there will be no recovery of money,” Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said during zero hour in the Lok Sabha.

He was responding a query from Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Sharad Yadav on whether the central government had asked Bihar to return the money.

Members of the JD-U that rules Bihar had Tuesday disrupted the proceedings of the house on the issue and to restore calm Mukherjee had promised to make a statement during zero hour Friday.

A similar question was raised by Biju Janta Dal (BJD) members, who wanted to know if the government had taken back the relief money given to Orissa.

Visibly irked, Mukherjee retorted: “You don’t give me a submission notice in advance. You cannot bring everything like this.”
