New Delhi, March 21 (IANS) The union government plans to set up a nuclear fuel complex in Rajasthan’s Kota to supply fuel to nuclear power plants across the country, the Lok Sabha was informed Wednesday.
“The Department of Atomic Energy is making preparations to set up a new nuclear fuel complex at Kota in Rajasthan,” Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, V. Narayanasamy said.
Currently, there is only one nuclear fuel complex in Hyderabad, which supplies fuel to 20 nuclear reactors in the country.
India has massive expansion plans to increase the capacity of nuclear power plants to 63,000 MW by 2032, from the current level of 4,780 MW.
