Bangalore, March 28 (IANS) The two semifinals of the Bridgestone World Series Hockey on April 1 will be held in Bangalore and Mumbai, which will also host the final the following day, the organisers said Wednesday.

The semifinals will commence at 7 p.m. (Bangalore) and 9 p.m. (Mumbai) while the final is scheduled for a 9 p.m. start.
The two venues were selected on the basis of feedback from the players and also the crowd response. The Mahindra Stadium in Mumbai was revamped recently while the KSHA Stadium in Bangalore is one of the busiest hockey venues in the country with tournaments being played round the year.
Making the announcement, Event Director Preeti Mehta said: “The response from the fans has been overwhelming at all the eight venues, but we had to finally zero in on two venues for the semifinals and the Final.
“WSH wanted to give the best makeover to the MHA Mahindra Stadium, and we are pleased that the players are very happy with the quality of the turf and the floodlights.”
