London, March 30 (IANS) Over-indulged children who are aware more of their rights than responsibilities are fuelling violence in the classroom, British teachers have warned.

One in three British teachers has dealt with physical violence from pupils during the current academic year, including punching, kicking, biting, pushing and scratching, the Daily Mail reported.
Middle-class children are just as likely to be the culprits as those from tougher backgrounds.
According to the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, its survey found fifty-seven percent as saying that pupils’ behaviour had deteriorated over the past five years and that parents had failed to instill respect for authority.
