Kathmandu, March 31 (IANS) Over 100 people, including 17 Indians, have been arrested in Nepal for using fake passports, a media report said Saturday.

The Department of Immigration arrested 118 people in the last two months, Xinhua reported citing the Republica daily.
According to data obtained from the department, as many as 67 people, including 11 Indians, were found in possession of fake passports in January.
In February, 51 people including six Indians were arrested for using such passports.
Two of the arrested are Chinese while one is from Sri Lanka, the department said.
Most of the arrested were workers returning from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Sudhir Kumar Shah, director general at the Department of Immigration, said: “The trend of using fake passports is on the rise… as those using such passports are mostly illiterate and unaware about the consequence of such a grave offence.”
