Raipur, April 3 (IANS) Chhattisgarh, which has roughly one-fifth of India’s total known coal reserves, has signed 59 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) since January 2007 with various power plants, the state assembly was told Tuesday.

“Chhattisgarh has signed 59 MoUs with power producers for setting up thermal power plants included 23 super critical thermal power plants,” Chief Minister Raman Singh said in reply to a question by Congress legislator Premsai Singh.
He also submitted names of the companies which the Bharatiya Janata Party government has signed deals for the power plants.
