Panaji, May 5 (IANS) Rajan Khosa’s “Gattu”, which has already received positive response at international film shows, will open the Children’s Film Festival to be held in Goa starting May 11.

“Gattu” deals with children’s aspirations in the face of adversity. It had won a special mention at the 62nd Berlinale for capturing the ironies, the complexities and the vitality of India.
The four-day 2012 Children’s Film Festival is in its third edition in Goa, which is already the permanent venue for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), held in November-December annually.
This year’s fest for kids will also feature a selection of films like Shyam Benegal’s “Charandas Chor” and international movies like “Kung Fu Panda II”, “Sunshine Barry and the Disco Worms”, said a statement from the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), which is hosting the festival.
“It’s going to be more than a film festival. We are having a lot of fringe activities like a watermelon eating contest, considering it is summer tie, face painting, magic shows on site,” said an ESG spokesperson.
