New Delhi, May 8 (IANS) The capital witnessed a hot day Tuesday with above-average maximum and minimum temperatures. The Met Office forecast similar weather Wednesday but with cloudy skies in the evening.

“The maximum temperature Tuesday was 40.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 27.2 degrees — both two notches above average for this time of the year,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
Humidity levels remained between a high of 46 percent and a low of 27 percent and Wednesday would be similar but with cloudy skies in the evening, said the official.
“The skies will be clear Wednesday morning, which could turn partly cloudy towards evening. The maximum and minimum temperature will hover around 41 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively,” the official told IANS.
Monday’s maximum temperature was a notch above average at 39.8 degrees Celsius while the minimum was a notch below average at 24.6 degrees.
