Rio de Janeiro, May 30 (IANS) Villarreal striker Nilmar has revealed he wants to return to Brazilian Serie A club Internacional.

The Spanish outfit is set to release the 27-year-old after being relegated to the second division earlier this month.
“I have always made it clear that my preference is to play with Internacional,” the Brazil international forward told Radio Bandeirantes.
“If there is an agreement made between the clubs, then I would return with great pleasure. There is nothing like playing and working close to your family. I hope it works out so that I can go back.”
Villarreal is understood to be keen to offload the club’s most expensive players to make up for diminished revenue in the second division, reported Xinhua.
A stumbling block in the deal is believed to be Villarreal’s eight million euro asking price for the forward.
Nilmar has scored 26 goals from 85 first-team appearances since joining Villarreal in 2009. He has also played 23 matches for Brazil and scored nine goals.
