Panaji, July 14 (Inditop.com) Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat’s belief in his state being an attractive destination is unshakeable. While announcing the names of Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Manoj Kumar as special invitees for a patriotic film festival next month, Kamat expressed confidence that they would “love to come” although they haven’t confirmed it yet.

“They will be confirmed yaar… They (Bollywood celebrities) will come here. They love to come to Goa,” Kamat told reporters here Monday when asked whether the government had confirmed the presence of Aamir Khan and Manoj Kumar.

“We have confirmed the presence of Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra, whose ‘Rang De Basanti’ will be the opening film of the three-day festival,” Kamat said.

Some of the other films which will be screened are Farhan Akhtar’s “Lakshya”, Manoj Kumar’s “Upkaar”, Sohraab Modi’s “Sikandar” and Ashutosh Gowarikar’s “Lagaan”.

The festival is being organised by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), which is the nodal agency for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Kamat also said that in a couple of days the state government will dispatch a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to the union ministry for information and broadcasting as part of the preparations for the forthcoming IFFI.

“The information and broadcasting ministry will return the document after applying their mind, following which the plans for IFFI 2009 will be set in motion,” Kamat said.
